A graduate of Moscow State University of Lomonosov, faculty of foreign languages (bachelor of arts, linguistics, and master of arts, linguistics and communication), and of University of Colorado at Denver, USA (bachelor of arts, major in Communications), Alexander started his career as a translator in ITAR-TASS national wire agency, where he was soon promoted to editor. Later he continued his journalist career in Interfax wire agency.
